Our senior center provides a communal place for seniors to gather.
At the Evangeline Council on Aging, we have proudly served senior citizens in the Basile, Louisiana area since 1972. We offer a wide range of programs that help older adults live fully and independently in their own homes. One of the services we offer is a vibrant senior center that provides a welcoming hub for enriching activities and social connection.
At our senior center, there is always something going on. On a regular basis, seniors who visit can enjoy a diverse range of events, from bingo and arts and crafts to exercise classes, reading sessions, puzzles, and more. Every activity we put on is designed to promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. We also host workshops on applicable topics like healthcare, accessing services, and maintaining overall wellness.
In addition to our senior center, we also offer help to seniors at home. Some of our in-home care services include housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, and non-emergency transportation. Our services are provided by licensed, screened staff, and there is no cost for most of our programs. We are committed to matching every individual with the right mix of support.
