Our senior rec center is a great place to make new friends, try out different hobbies, and stay active.
Since 1971, our dedicated team here at Evangeline Council on Aging has been passionate about helping senior citizens make the most of their golden years. We know how difficult it can be for older people to stay active, maintain healthy relationships, and engage in hobbies, which is why we have created a senior recreation center with plenty of opportunities and activities to choose from. If you are located in or around the Mamou, Louisiana area, we’d like to invite you to our lovely facility.
At our senior recreation center, our goal is to offer classes, outings, fitness activities, and other hobbies to ensure there’s something to pique every person’s interest. Whether you want to head out on the town to try a new restaurant, relax with a yoga class, or take up painting, we’re sure you’ll find something on our calendar you’ll like to try. We aim to offer multiple options each month to suit people’s interests, and we’re always open to suggestions as well.
In addition to offering activities and meals at our senior recreation center, we also offer transportation options for those unable to drive themselves to our facility. We know that loneliness and feelings of isolation are extremely common in older folks, which is why we strive to provide reliable transportation options at a reasonable price. Although we offer free rides to medical appointments, seniors are asked to pay a small fee for trips to our senior recreation center.
If you’d like to learn more about the benefits of our senior activities or view our current schedule, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of our team today.
